Symptom #
After upgrading to TaskCentre 4.6 SR1, attempting to start the Configurator results in the following error message (the path details may change):
An error has occurred while processing:Initialization
Error details: Access to the path ‘Global\_F34DAA94501B464A9EAE1A2CC546E55D’ is denied.
Cause #
On some Windows Server 2008 machines, the Windows Installer files remain on out-of-date versions even after collecting all available Windows Updates. This causes problems during the TaskCentre upgrade.
Resolution #
Apply the Vista version of the hotfix at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/972397. Then re-run the 4.6 SR1 upgrade and select the ‘repair’ option.
