Symptom #
A task with a Run Crystal Report step fails at runtime. The BPA Platform event log shows the following error code:
0x80020009
Cause #
This is a network print share permissions issue that can occur when printing Crystal Reports from a task environment.
Resolution #
Note: Before applying the resolution you should first ensure that the report does NOT have a printer setup internally as it may try to print to it. You do this within the report under File ->Page Setup ->Printer Options by putting a tick in the No Printer (optimize for screen display) check box.
Add the local system account to the list of permissions on the printer share as follows:
- Right-click the remote printer, select Properties then select the Security tab
- Click Add to bring up Select Users, Computers, Groups
- Click the Objects Type button and ensure that Computers is selected.
- Add the BPA Platform server computer
