Symptom #
You may see the following error entry logged against the BPA Platform event log:
Failed to connect to Task Runner CP for Task 0x800700a4
Cause #
0x800700a4 is a Windows error which decodes to “No more threads can be created in the system.”
Background #
Connection points (The ‘CP’ in the error message) are an integral part of COM infrastructure on which BPA Platform relies.
The fault occurs where a call onto the Task Runner COM object to set up the Task Runner’s connection point fails due to no free threads being available.
Resolution #
A restart of the BPA Platform Server service will resolve the issue.
