TaskCentre client exhibits delayed response times


When you browse tools under the System node you may experience delayed response times. You may also experience delayed task initialisation.


The problem is confined to machines where no internet connection is available, and is caused by certificate revocation checking of digitally signed components failing to contact the certificate revocation list server.

When no internet connection is available, certificate revocation checking will retry for a set period before timing out. This manifests as delayed response times within the client

The issue can be resolved by setting the ‘Check publisher certificate revocation’ flag to FALSE for the account that the TaskCentre Server runs under (LOCAL SYSTEM), as follows

Navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-18\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WinTrust\Trust Providers\Software Publishing

Change the ‘State’ values from:
23c00 – Enabled – check for publishers cert rev

23e00 – Disabled – don’t check for publishers cert rev
