Symptom #
A task using a Print Document step fails at runtime with the following error:
Failed to print document 0x80070bc4
Cause #
The code 0x80070bc4 is a Windows error code meaning “No printers were found”.
The most likely cause being that the printers are deployed via a group policy, whereby the printers only get created when a user logs in.
Resolution #
Create a new printer from Devices and Printers and set it as the default BPA Platform printer. This will ensure that a printer will always be available for BPA Platform to print from.
Note: If printing a Crystal Report, ensure it is the same printer referenced in the Crystal Report design application.
