Introduction #
Tasks with the Run Sage 50 / 200 Report tool, connected to Sage 50 v24, are failing. In the Event Log, you are seeing “Exception occurred. Details: File contains corrupted data”.
Cause #
The failing tasks have the Run Sage 50 / 200 Report task step outputting an XLS document.
Sage have removed support for XLS output (Excel 97 – 2003 Workbook) in version 24 and above.
Resolution #
Change the failing tasks to have XLSX output rather than XLS.
NOTE: Where the Run Sage 50 / 200 Report tool is connected to Sage 50 v24, XLS output is suppressed for new tasks or new consuming task steps in existing tasks.
