<!– This knowledgebase article will outline how the TaskCentre store can be restored from backup, this would be necessary if task data has accidentally been deleted or become corrupt.

TaskCentre can use two types of stores; Internal and SQL. The procedure for restoring a store depends on which type was selected during the TaskCentre installation.

INTERNAL STORE

Action: Using the TaskCentre configurator, point the Internal Store Location at the last known working store from your network backup utility. The backup will first need to be copied to the machine hosting TaskCentre Server.

The default path given to the Internal Store at installation is c:\. This can be confirmed via the configurator: Server -> Store -> Configuration, tick the box Change store configuration and select the option Connect to / Create an alternative internal store. Click Next which will display the current Internal Store Location.

SQL STORE

Action: Within SQL Server restore a backup of the TaskCentre store database from your network backup utility. Ensure a backup is first taken of the live store database to prevent data loss.

The default name of the SQL store given at installation is TCDatabase. The store name can be confirmed via the TaskCentre configurator: Server -> Store -> Configuration, tick the box Change store configuration and select the option Connect to / Create an alternative Microsoft SQL Server Store. Click Next which will display the server name and database store name.
