Signum Solutions delivers SAP Business One integration projects without having to code or lock customers in
Codeless Platforms today announced that Signum Solutions, a certified and long-standing SAP Business One Gold Partner, has firmly embedded BPA Platform into its toolset and mindset. The integration and automation software has presented the company not only with new opportunities, but also the ability to offer something different and valuable to its existing and new customers. Signum is also adopting and gaining increased interest for Codeless Platforms’ web portal software for SAP Business One.
“We would have struggled with integration without BPA Platform. It’s allowed us to address requirements that come to us, such as integration with EDI systems, third-party warehouses, external platforms like Shopify etc. These are things that our existing customers, as well as new customers, have presented to us, and it’s not been a problem. Nothing is impossible these days now that we’ve got BPA Platform. There’s a lot that we can do with it,” explained Lindsay Pointon, Managing Director, Signum Solutions .
“BPA Platform has given us a solution that basically allows us to implement custom developments, but within a standard, portable framework. It is easy to understand by a non-developer and we can deliver projects without having to code and therefore lock customers in. We’re not looking at developing something that they’re completely reliant upon that only we can support.”
“As a business, we try to not be technical with our customers. What we really try to do is talk their language, understand their business problems, and then try and solve those problems using tools. I usually explain to customers that we are not a software seller, we are a problem-solving business. Our job is to understand and deliver the technology to solve their problems.”
“Over the last couple of years, we’ve been very focused on talking to our customers about small wins; gaining that extra couple of percentage points improvement. We love to talk to them about what else can we do with SAP Business One. How can we save them an extra half an hour a day? Or how can we shave a half a percent off their cost base? The answer is: making lots and lots of small changes. We can often achieve that by using BPA Platform to automate certain processes. Over time, you look back and suddenly you realise you haven’t just saved half a percent, you’ve actually saved 10%. For us, BPA Platform is an enabler for that. It gives us something to go to our customers with which is not customised coding.”
The success that is often attributed to BPA Platform is its flexibility, ease of use and the fact that it is vendor independent. This provides end-users with the ability to easily change or add systems as and when required; an ethos that Signum actively promotes.
“We’ve always had a policy of working with standard software. We don’t see the need to “code” bespoke add-ons. Tools like BPA Platform can do most things and do not lock the customer into us as a partner. I’d rather say to my customers: we’re deploying a solution using standard software that is portable; so, if the worst happens and Signum disappears, you can easily get your system supported by another partner. You might think that’s ridiculous, but customers like that security and freedom, and I think it’s doing the right thing for the customer.”
“Several customers have come to us over the years (wanting to leave their current partner) but their business relies upon bespoke software developed by their current partner that nobody else could support and it’s been a real pain for them to move. Signum locks customers into the business by simply working hard, having a good relationship and delivering a good level of service and advice, such that a customer doesn’t feel the need to move to any other partner,” said Lindsay.
The other offering from Codeless Platforms that is increasingly gathering interest is the dedicated portal for SAP Business One. The portal can provide a user-friendly, single point of access to company data for both employees and customers, which can result in saving effort and time.
“We had one customer who explained to me that they were probably spending two hours a week sending copy invoices to customers. On the back of that alone, they have an interest in deploying a customer portal so that they can give the customer the facility to download copy invoices themselves, saving the business two hours a week. That’s time that they can use for something else. It also makes it easier for their customer to trade with them. It’s an added benefit. So obviously, I’m seeing a lot of interest in portal solutions now as well,” concluded Lindsay.
