Award-winning digital transformation agency signs partnership deal with Codeless Platforms
Codeless Platforms today revealed that Treefrog Inc., an award-winning digital transformation agency based in Newmarket, Canada, has signed a strategic partnership deal and will be exploiting BPA Platform for future eCommerce, CRM, PIM and ERP integration projects. Having been introduced to BPA Platform, Treefrog realised that it was the perfect enabler for a wide variety of integrations, such as SYSPRO, SAP, Shopify and Magento, and therefore could reduce project costs by replacing custom coding, helping it to concentrate on its core focus of front-end marketing and customer experience development.
“The reality is the majority of businesses aren’t competitive, so we’re trying to push the boundaries to help them compete with the likes of Amazon and make them more competitive in the environment. We are therefore trying to make the customer experience (UX) on client websites better. Whether it’s B2B, B2C or a distribution agency, you need to be able to give information back to the customer – you need to ‘reduce the gap’. For many of our clients, that huge gap is ERP connectivity to their websites, and that’s where Codeless Platforms comes in,” explained Sean Stephens, CEO, Treefrog.
“Until now, we had to do most integrations by hand using external objects. However, with BPA Platform we can now close that gap, making it a lot less expensive and a lot less difficult to make those connections. We have a huge opportunity for using BPA Platform. In fact, this partnership between us will dramatically decrease costs for clients who want to do these kinds of integrations. In the past, some projects might have resulted in a $250,000 project due to bespoke coding and development. However, with BPA Platform we are potentially looking at a $30-$40,000 project. That’s a 7x decrease in cost by using BPA Platform.”
“We are currently working on a project for a client that needed to integrate with SYSPRO. We were going to hand code this but, to be honest, none of my team particularly wanted to do that work. It’s not really fun. It’s staring at fields and mapping them all day, and there’s so many things that can go wrong. We just want to concentrate on doing the front-end design, the logic and the strategy of how the website works, and the UX.”

“We are currently building a full three-dimensional product configurator online for a customer, which is well beyond a PIM system. Customers will be able to move the products around, choose the colours, the shapes, the paint, all the hardware etc. This will only be available for products that are currently available at the warehouse, so obviously we need a connection with the ERP to determine what is currently in stock. Customers can configure it exactly the way they want, and when they click ‘order’ it gets custom ordered for them. We will therefore be doing much more complex integrations and BPA Platform will be perfect for retrieving all of that information.”
Integrating ERP systems with websites
ERP systems are critical to the running of any business but require data generated in other systems, such as an eCommerce webstore or PIM system, to be imported in order for the organisation to have a clear understanding and insight of business activity.
“Many businesses are usually waiting until the prime moment to upgrade their ERP system before they upgrade their web platform as they see it as a logical sequence. However, the majority of the time they don’t have the time or money, and the success rate is often about 10%. Therefore, everybody’s waiting to get better at sales until the next big move,” said Stephens.
“However, with BPA Platform we don’t need to worry about the ERP upgrade because we’ll be able to connect the ERP whenever it’s ready. Most ERP consultants will recommend ways to upgrade a website until the ERP project is finished. However, we’re saying look, that doesn’t matter, you can do a cutover to your new ERP by simply doing that integration, and the cost will not be that high. It completely changes the dynamics and the corporate strategy on when a business can expand its presence online.”
