TaskCentre dynamically monitors Sage Line 500 for key data and sends exception reports to internal and external recipients
Orbis Software, a provider of business process automation solutions, is pleased to announce that the Morgan Motor Company, which relies on Sage Line 500 to manage its accounts and business processes, is using TaskCentre to perform event-based, exception reporting.
Detailed exception reporting is a critical business process for any organisation. Without comprehensive exception reporting delays can occur, stock can perish, account managers can trade with accounts that are on hold or customers may suffer poor customer service.
“The IT company that installed TaskCentre (along with Sage Line 500) suggested that we exploit its use as it works really well with Sage,” said Caroline Gudgeon, System Implementation Team, Morgan Motor Company Ltd. “We mainly use it for monitoring and email alerts. So when something happens, or changes are created, various people receive an email.”

TaskCentre can dynamically monitor Sage Line 500 for key data and send email or SMS exception reports to either internal or external recipients when required. It can also build escalation capabilities into exception reports.
“You can set it up to report and notify on any criteria you want. For example, if somebody wants to know every time we’ve sold a car, if we sell anything below a certain margin or every time there’s a new part created, they will receive an email when that happens. That kind of event is what we tend to use it for. It can be quite personal to the individual as to what information that they want,” explained Gudgeon. “Some of them are daily reports, some are weekly. We’ve got about 20 reporting procedures running at the moment.”
Detailed exception reporting can be a time-consuming process, dependent on employees to ‘spot’ exceptions and prone to errors. TaskCentre can automate the creation and delivery of detailed exception reports (Microsoft Word, Crystal Reports, SSRS, HTML) and employees can benefit from less administration and 100% accurate information relating to a business exception.
“TaskCentre saves us having to check data manually because it will automatically send an email to say this has or hasn’t happened, depending on the criteria that has been designated,” said Gudgeon. “We don’t have to run reports and check it all the time, it just tells you without having to do anything, which frees up time for the department and our staff.”
