UK’s leading distributor of motorcycle parts and accessories uses BPA Platform for SAP Business One and GFS courier integration
Bike It International, the UK’s leading distributor of motorcycle parts and accessories, based in Southampton, Hampshire found the answer to their courier integration requirements with BPA Platform. The company manages the business using SAP Business One and supplies a customer base throughout the UK and Europe with a range of products from an extensive portfolio of brands.
The Challenge
When the implementation of ScanB1, a new WMS solution integrated with SAP Business One resulted in a dramatic reduction in data entry errors and manual processes, Bike It were keen to extend these improvements to their courier processes, which until that point had been manual.
The challenge was to integrate with their preferred couriers, GFS (Global Freight Solutions) and Parcelforce Worldwide, which included shipping products to the UK and overseas.
Bike It distributes its products to its customers via multiple routes:
- Local trade counter collection
- Palletised consignment
- Parcelforce Worldwide
- Global Freight Solutions (GFS)
“Due to growth, we were experiencing issues with order fulfilment, order volumes, fulfilment errors and data entry errors. As part of the implementation process for our warehouse management system we needed to integrate GFS with SAP Business One,” explained Gail Houghton, Operations Manager, Bike It.
“We also needed a solution that could ensure all orders were imported and fulfilled accurately and on time, as well as removing the continual need for the manual checking and manipulation of orders.”
The Solution
The decision was made to use BPA Platform to integrate SAP Business One with GFS and Parcelforce, and then automate the management and transfer of order fulfilment data, including:
- Consignment of shipments
- Cancellation of consignments
- Printing of courier labels
- Creation of delivery notes
- Creation of invoices
- Printing of delivery notes, using Crystal Reports
“Now that BPA Platform is automating our order fulfilment process between SAP Business One, GFS and Parcelforce, errors have been eliminated and processing time cut. In addition, customers receive accurate, timely order updates and satisfaction has increased. BPA enabled us to meet these requirements quickly and efficiently,” concluded Gail Houghton, Operations Manager, Bike It.
