How working with BPA Platform in multiple SMEs led to Tim Appleton setting up his own IT consultancy
Codeless Platforms today announced that Tim Appleton, a Sage expert and owner of independent IT consultancy firm Oxingstone, has joined its channel programme as an independent consultant. The partnership enables Oxingstone to offer its customers a market-proven automation and integration solution, as well as the ability to build and create bespoke applications and web portals.
“We are really pleased that Tim has joined us as an independent consultant. He has a wealth of experience in the SME market, and is someone who not only knows and understands Sage products, but also has a strong accounting background,” said Matt Lidster, Managing Director, Codeless Platforms. “This combination of technical and usability knowledge makes him an extremely valuable asset to our channel offering. We look forward to working with and supporting Oxingstone for the foreseeable future.”
After a period of working in the private, public and third sector, Tim Appleton decided to take a leap of faith and set up his own IT consultancy firm, Oxingstone. With a wealth of experience behind him, he is now building his customer base – mainly users of Sage products in retail and manufacturing – and introducing them to the potential of BPA Platform.
“I was introduced to Codeless Platforms’ BPA Platform whilst working for a private healthcare business. I was using BPA Platform to perform tasks that Sage 200 couldn’t do. Working with the product, I could see a way forward – using it for other integrations, such as eCommerce – and the potential to make the transition to an independent consultant. It opened my eyes to the opportunities in front of me,” said Tim Appleton, Managing Director, Oxingstone.
“What I like about BPA Platform is its usability and reliability, and the fact that it has significant support and development behind it. It’s great to get on board with a technology provider of the calibre of Codeless Platforms. Their vision appeals to me and that’s something that I want Oxingstone to offer.”
The power of BPA Platform
BPA Platform enables businesses to integrate practically any on-premises or cloud-based application at a fraction of the cost of bespoke development. More importantly, Codeless Platforms’ drag and drop integration tools enable organisations to rapidly automate business processes to reduce operational costs and improve company performance.
“BPA Platform is an enabler. It’s something that I find is the glue, or the bridge, between the systems that people have already invested in. Most SMEs buy along traditional lines. They’ll buy a finance system, an HR system, warehouse management system etc., and then realise that they need them to work together,” explained Appleton.
“A lot of senior managers in the SME market are often not supported and advised by their own IT and Business Analysts. In fact, their IT might be quite vanilla and outsourced. In the majority of cases within the SME sector, internal IT professionals just aren’t there. This is a challenge, but also provides the opportunity. Organisation’s often find themselves needing a bridge between systems procured and developed departmentally rather than organisationally. Similarly, a new contract, a new product line, new market requires a bridge from the existing to the new. Codeless Platforms’ BPA Platform can provide that bridge.”
