During configuration of the Server & Client, you must create the Administrator account (see How to Configure the BPA Platform Server) before you can log into the BPA Platform client. Once logged in as the Administrator, you can create other BPA Platform accounts as required (see Managing User Accounts).
You launch the BPA Platform client from the BPA Platform 2020 program group in the Windows Start menu:

- From the Server drop-down, select the relevant BPA Platform server to log into — if this server is on the same computer you are logged into, select localhost.
- Choose the Type of BPA Platform account you are authenticating with:
| ■ | Internal — This is for accounts created in the BPA Platform server (see Managing User Accounts). Use this type of authentication for the BPA Platform Administrator. |
Enter the Username and Password.
Tip: Enable Set as Default to log in as the same user each time. If this is enabled and you want to log in as a different user, right-click the BPA Platform client icon in the Windows Start menu or any shortcuts you have created to the client and select Launch Login.
| ■ | Windows — Select this to use a Windows account to log into BPA Platform. Note that only Windows users who have been added as users in BPA Platform can log in using this method. |
To use the current logged in Windows user's credentials, leave all other settings as their default.
To use another Windows user's credentials, enable Specify Credentials and enter the Username, Password, and Domain (if relevant).
- To always use the entered credentials to log into this instance of the BPA Platform client, enable Set as default.
- If the BPA Platform server is listening on non-standard ports for the client connections, click Advanced and enter the relevant Command (send to the server) and Callback (receive from the server) port numbers. If these are unknown, refer to your BPA Platform system administrator.
- Click OK.
