If required, you can import an existing Repository and re-use its structure.

Importing from a Delimited File

If importing from a delimited file, you can either import into a new Repository or into an existing one.

  1. From the BPA Platform client, expand System and select Repositories.
  2. Either open the relevant Repository or create a new one.
  3. Click Import.

  1. Click Browse to locate and open the file.
  2. Choose the Delimiter for this file.
  3. If the file contains a header row, enable Column headings in first row.
  4. If a text Qualifier is used, enter this in the box provided.
  5. Click Next.

  1. Select the relevant repositoryClosed Repositories are used by the Internal Memory feature to store memorised data in BPA Platform's proprietary database format. from Elements.
  2. For each Attribute, select the relevant file Column to map to.
  3. Click Finish to import the Repository.

Importing from an XML File

If importing an XML Repository, you can only do this from the menu:

  1. From the BPA Platform client, expand System and select Repositories.
  2. Right-click on the relevant Repository and select Import XML.

  1. Click Browse and select the relevant file.
  2. Enter a meaningful Name for this Repository.
  3. Select the type of Repository you are importing:
Backup Mode — All of the Repository data, including user access and data processing information, is imported
Copy Mode — Only the Repository schema and data is imported
  1. Click OK to import the Repository.

Importing from a TKS File

If your Repository is contained in a BPA Platform task file (.tks), be aware that all data contained, including tasks, variables, and so on, are imported at the same time. For a detailed description of how to import such a file, see How to Import Tasks and Connections.
