To add a new Transfer File (FTP)
The Transfer File (FTP) Tool is used to create a Task Step that uploads or downloads one or more files to and from one or more FTP Servers. This is a powerful tool which can be used, for example, in the automated publishing of key information to Intranet / Internet sites. step to an existing task:
- Open the relevant task (if creating a new task, see How to Create a Basic Task).
- Either:
| ► | Click and drag the Transfer File (FTP) icon from the Task Browser to the task Design area. |
–OR–
| ► | From the task's Design tab, right-click on empty space and select New > Output > Transfer File (FTP). |
- Enter a Name and Description for the step.
- Choose where the file to transfer is found:
- If the file is consumed from a previous Input step's recordset, select Use a recordset then choose the recordset from the Input Recordset drop-down.
- If using a document from a previous step, select Read documents from a source then choose the document from the Document Source drop-down.
- Select the Main tab.
- Click Add to add files for transferring.
- (Optional) Select Memory to define a Repository to memorise some or all of the recordset used by this step in the Memory Definitions
Memory definitions specify the data, generated by a task at run-time, to be memorised. You can save memorised data in an internal Repository, in an ODBC or OLEDB data source, or in an OLEDB data source via a stored procedure. interface. - Click OK to save the new step.
