1. Open the relevant task (if creating a new task, see How to Create a Basic Task).
2. Either:

Click and drag the Send Fax (Tobit) icon from the Task Browser to the task Design area.

From the task's Design tab, right-click on empty space and select New > Output > Send Fax (Tobit).

3. Enter a Name and Description for the step.
4. If a data source is being used, select Read documents from a source and choose a document from the Document Source drop-down.
5. Select the Main tab.
6. Click To and choose the fax recipients through the Select Recipients interface.
   1. Where dynamic names and addresses are to be used, click Add in the Select Recipients interface to display the Recipient interface.
   2. Drag and drop the required columns or variables into the Name and Address fields from the Task Browser, then click OK.
7. If the Message only option has been selected in the Message Contents area, then the message can be typed into the Message text box. Columns or variables can then be dragged and dropped into the message from the Task Browser as required.
8. If the Document output only option has been selected in the Message Contents area, then the fax consists of the document or report from the chosen data source in the General tab.
9. Select Memory to define a Repository to memorise some or all of the recordset used by this step in the Memory Definitions Memory definitions specify the data, generated by a task at run-time, to be memorised. 10. Select the Coverpage tab.
11. If a cover page is required for the fax, select Use coverpage.
12. A number of standard cover page templates are provided through the Tobit software for selection. Select the required template from the Coverpage drop-down.
13. Each coverpage contains a number of variables.
    1. Select a variable and click Edit.
    2. Create either an absolute value variable (where the value doesn't change), or a dynamic value based a variable dragged from the Task Browser.
14. Select the Options tab and specify the error options.
15. Click OK to save the new step.
